The new Euromax Terminal at Yangtzehaven lies at the northern-most tip of Maasvlakte1, immediately adjacent to the Maasvlakte Oil Terminal. The terminal is only used for the transhipment of containers and is leased to Euromax B.V.The terminal can process 3 million TEU (Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit) on an annual basis, and it is prepared for the future generation container vessels from 12,500 TEU. The Euromax Terminal was taken into use in the course of 2008.As the container transport tariffs are based on the city of Rotterdam, the Euromax surcharge was introduced to cover the extra transport distance.
