We will gladly handle all required customs documents and various certificates for you. When talking about customs declarations and documents, think of limited tax representation and documents of origin. What is more, we will handle the declarations (import, export and transit) and will perform supporting activities, such as determining the goods code and tax value.
As from October, 15th 2019, fines up to 7500 euro per violation will be applied in the Port of Antwerp if no customs documents are available prior to shipment. This will apply to all shipments types (FCL, LCL and conventional/breakbulk).
As from January, 1st 2020, carriers will implement a ‘no-load policy’ if no customs documents are presented before the shipment. This will lead to cargo not being shipped and may cause additional charges.
Last but no least we also want to bring your attention to the fact that customs in Belgium are really focussing on intercepting undervalued cargoes and that there are big fines which are being given.
If you want to know more information on this, do not hesitate to contact us.
These documents can be used for all kinds of transportation such as seafreight, airfreight and road transport.
We are always working based on direct representation for our custom clearances. This means that this declaration is effectuated in the name and at the expense of a different party, as we are arranging the clearances in the name of our customers.
If you already have questions about direct representation, contact us at embassy@embassy-freight.be.
Since May 15, 2013 we are AEO certified. For our customers in particular, this means that goods transported by our services are subject to lesser custom inspections. When there is still a custom inspection, this can be done at the place of unloading. AEO stands for Authorized Economic Operator. This certificate is issued by the customs authorities and declares that a company complies with all the requirements concerning the international transportation of goods.
