During the annual Spring Thaw period, the Canadian government as well as the carriers apply restrictions to cargo weight.The maximum weight during this period is less than normal.Spring Thaw is in effect from mid-March until the end of May but depending on weather conditions.This weight restriction will affect all pre-carriages and deliveries per truck in the Province of Québec in Canada. Amongst others, the city Montreal is located here.The maximum allowable cargo weights vary per container and per carrier. These weight restrictions not only apply to the total cargo weight in the container but also to the distribution of the weight over the axles of the chassis.
